Are we at the dawn of new sustainable practices - Socially, Ecologically and Economically?  If so, how can we  benefit as a community?

ZERO IMPACT MALIBU  is Malibu's own forum to explore these questions, exchange information and identify where we stand in looking at our position in life, business and design with  regard to the magnificent natural setting we inhabit.

To get a better grip on 'Sustainable'  let's look at its alternative 'Un-Sustainable'...

An unsustainable business means bankruptcy, an unsustainable marriage means divorce, an unsustainable life means death.

Malibu has a rich history of ecological awareness, and continuous daily activism to preserve its natural assets.  ZERO IMPACT MALIBU  intends to highlight, celebrate and connect these various activities, build more community support and create workshops where new sustainable practices in Business, Green Building Design, Nature Preservation and Sustainability in our daily life can be explored and exchanged.

ZERO IMPACT MALIBU was initiated by  Rebekah Evens, director of the Chamber of Commerce and Chris Hurst, of Zero Power House,  given its current format by Robert Mechielsen.

The Feb 10th Event will invite even more individuals and existing local Environmental groups to a round-table discussion  to explore how, we as a community can align ourselves with exiting new global movements that inevitably will create change in how we, each individually and together will forge our future.

Again look at the NASA picture above - In our Humans history it has only been very shortly that we could see ourselves from this perspective - It's results are overwhelming  -  We are starting to realize we are, indeed all connected,  build of the same basic building blocks of Life itself.   Planetary and Cosmologically.

It will take a while to take this all in....
